Never hankered
For moon or stars
only handful of sky

Solicitous arm
Across droopy shoulders
When sun was on the run

Bit of fuss
Spontaneous jive
When weariness arrived
Raja Ravi Varma
Cheery words’
Inundating drench
When hope benched

Became breezy
During life’s downs

Leg ups would’ve been
nice to step to the plate, help
Stride on life’s high grounds

Satiated in life
In every which way
Had merely sought warmth

was that too much?
