True Love- A Benediction
Bewildered and hurt she curled into a ball
Four and in pigtails, this girl did he maul
Parents hushed and crooned and cuddled
Chocolates and ice-cream her to befuddle
Tear streaked cheeks and bloody thighs
Wiped and swiped amidst heavy sighs
Heartless monster cared not for tender years
Innocence melted not his red eyes, lust bleared
Broken-hearted parents helplessly cried within
Parents of girl child cared not to make any din
Strongly with love to keep this secret was impressed
The child agreed to forget and this pain she repressed
One day coming of age, she became the cynosure of many eyes
Yet she ignored them all, as except for dad, all men she despised
Reared with silver spoon and a sequestered sheltered life
Ill equipped was she to be independent or face any strife
Marriage was arranged, tearfully and stoically was she dispatched
But lady luck still had her inner self remain cocooned not hatched
Motherhood brought outer maturity but inside remained frozen
Dominating partner loved obsessively, she remained a virgin
Then calamity struck and an accident made her a widow one day
With an empty nest, she was left to fend for self, an easy prey
Gullible and still innocent despite it all, kith and kin took her for a ride
Spurning advances, gathering bits of life and sanity, she kept her pride
Finally fate took pity and a knight in shining armor appeared in her orbit
Four eyes met, instant recognition and mutual hunger joined their circuits
Passionate currents of love and joy finally broke down her emotional walls
All repressed hurts were shared and dealt with and removed from mothballs
Feeling light and airy she was like a new person full of joie de vivre once again
True love suffused her being n finally she realized life was a blessing, not a bane
And if it all falls apart, I will know deep in my heart, the only dream that mattered had come true. In this life, I was loved by you.- Colin Raye
True love comes quietly, without banners or flashing lights. If you hear bells, get your ears checked.- Erich Segal ,American, Novelist Quotes
I hold it true, whatever befall; I feel it, when I sorrow most; ‘Tis better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all.-Lord Alfred Tennyson 1809-1892, British Poet
