The Comforter
I wrap you around in my loving arms
Your cold and shivers my body warms
Your tired limbs get respite and solace
We enclose and hug without any bias
My job is to shelter all who seek a break
From life’s struggles that keep them awake
I perform my personal job with utter honesty
Yet cannot vouch for all my seekers, woefully
Present climate condones many ills unfortunately
Confused, double signals are given thoughtlessly
Children in innocence shuffle in listless ambivalence
Lessons learnt sync not with grown up acts in life’s balance
I shelter murderers, liars, cheats, saints and sinners alike
Yet long to comfort a Gandhi, an Einstein and their like
I pray to God for a revolution and sea change in the value system
Rewards for brave soldiers n sportsmen have not a glaring chasm!!
I wrap you around in my loving arms
Your cold and shivers my body warms
Your tired limbs get respite and solace
We enclose and hug without any bias

But as someone pointed out earlier, it is not really about fairness;
it is about taking finite resources and applying them where they
will have the most effect.-Jim Walsh Irish, Politician
Today we are afraid of simple words like goodness and mercy and
kindness. We don’t believe in the good old words because we don’t
believe in good old values anymore. And that’s why the world is sick.
Lin Yutang Chinese Author
Some values must be universal, like human rights and the equal
worth of every human being.- – Bjorn Ulvaeus Swedish, Musician,

in other men.- Alexander Pope English, Poet
