The Catchers

The Catchers

Eye catchers all/ watchers all!

Sun Catchers (Day)

Painstakingly handcrafted
Finished bits of colored glass
Diminutive tarts are they, not crass

Bound by a single thread they hang
Glassy-eyed craving amorous sunny glance
Once bestowed, life suffused, they dance

They shine and smile and jingle in the sun
Glass sunflowers frolicking in fun, hoping
That love’s labor begets value before day is done

Night Catchers

Ladies of night hang in arches, doorways
Tethered to handlers with acquiescence or not
Baited anglers primed to catch love needing eyes

Painstakingly they dress up to make a killing
Take to la la land those eager hands willing for
Few bucks to make them forget life shrilling

Eye Catchers, sun catchers, we are watchers all
Vicissitudes of life affects us in big ways or small
Caring, buying helps make a breakthrough to it all
