Seared

Seared

A flare was about to land
Upon the white inviting sand
Involuntarily I stuck out my hand
Capturing it before disband

Seared is my soul
Seared is my spirit
Seared is my palm
Commiserating with it

My needs were so few
For them I looked to you
Yet you made me stew
Turning me into a shrew

Seared is my soul
Seared is my spirit
Seared is my palm
Commiserating with it

Friends and lovers were we
Tethered by solemn vows
Love has since dried up n fled
My unshed tears turning red

Seared is my soul
Seared is my spirit
Seared is my palm
Commiserating with it

Let this flare spark love’s embers
Let it rekindle love not dismember
Let us both restart, give in a little
Salvaging selves from further dwindle

Let us care
Let us dare
Let love flare
Let us redeclare

Cured is my soul
Cured is my spirit
Cured is my palm
Celebrating with it
