(in a shrinking world)

An Eden it was
Full of sunshine
birds and bees
Flora and fauna

Sun beamed down
Flooding light
flowers smiled
life quickened

Faces beamed
As I sat on our
Bench and smiled
Walking memory lane
With you by my side

Lately my love
My world has shrunk
People places have
Taken flight out of
Mind’s reach

Time inexorable flees
I cling to lingering light that’s
Within my vision’s field
and withering memory as my
Brain’s slate is wiped clean

Note: Alzheimer’s disease, a neurological illness that affects older adults, is the result of abnormal changes in brain tissue. Age and family history are risk factors.
plus Macular degenration reduces the vision field narrowing it
