SALVAGE
My heart is like an ocean’s womb
Where hopes die in watery tombs
Strewn are emotional cadavers
Squandered on selfish scavengers
Shipwrecked desires languish on sandy bed
Enflamed passions dying starved ill fed
My ambitions are those tiger sharks harpooned
Bloodied oft by well meaning friends that wound
My dreams swim eternally in ethereal waves
Hoping to be found along with treasure caves
Few priceless pearls float in exquisite tender tides
Biding their time to come into their own, not hide
Choices once made in life determine its ebb and flow
One cannot dip in same river twice as its ever on the go
Meeting that one kindred spirit is my salvation, only cure
A beloved one who will salvage and haul my soul ashore
My heart is like an ocean’s womb
Where hopes die in watery tombs
Tell us your thoughts
