Oh My Tongue!!

You get diabetic when I sweet talk

You get colicky when I show my wrath

You get bloody when I bite in restraint

Should I tie you or give you free rein!!

Oh My Tongue! My Poor Tongue!

Let loose you will speak your mind

Honesty will be construed as unkind

Cheekily you often serve insipid  praise

Some would rather words be weighed

Oh My Tongue! My Poor Tongue!

In the land of lip service masks rule

Inner thoughts remain caged to mewl

It takes courage to take it on the chin

Most survivors live wearing thick skins

Oh My Tongue! My Poor Tongue!

You can be fast and loose in gossip

You can be garrulous after wine sip

You can vituperate in justifiable ire

Riled you can rain brimstone n fire

Oh My Tongue! You Poor Tongue!

You wear a lovely shade of a happy pink

Spread joy, only speak after a good think

It is easy to sweet talk n others hoodwink

Make heart mind soul proud – Be in sync!

Oh My Tongue!

You Poor Tongue!

My tongue can wound or soothe

It can lull in garb silvery smooth

It is the instrument of my mind

Conveying amply intent opined

It can take others for a ride glibly

Or halt them in tracks confusedly

It can simper and whimper scared silly

It can also roar like a lion courageously

It can get obscene n off color decidedly

In can also denigrate others willy nilly

It can malign hapless ones narrow mindedly

It can put on pedestal often in sycophancy

With conduct unbecoming it can start an unmanly brawl

Attempting to deafen shutting out march of time’s footfall

It can pass time in quiet dignity surely with panache

In lieu of using scathing words dishing crap n hogwash

Granted a picture is worth a thousand words for sure

Yet intent of presenter’s context makes it dirty or pure

Couplets written n sung by the venerable Rumi, Gibran of yore

Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Tagore, Byron et al were all top drawer

Why denigrate a poet and a creative writer and libel creativity

It’s like a mindless child pulling wings of a butterfly needlessly

Live and let live all in good humor and bonhomie

Rolling off tongue words that impart happiness only

My tongue can wound or soothe

It can lull in garb silvery smooth

Live and let live all in good humor and bonhomie

Rolling off tongue words that impart happiness only

Rolling off tongue words that impart happiness only. Amen

Tongue is Double Edged Sword- Final Part 3

 A tongue can be:

 Forked, double edged, long, supple

Oblique, obtuse, honest, upfront

Bite, Lash, hurt, smote, sarcastic

Hearten, Perk, joyous, Gloat

Sweet, salty, bitter, spicy

Dazzle, Rattle, confuse

Ruin, build, lull, level

Soothe, tease, ease, connive

Roll up, Sing, twist, Whistle, dry up

Become silent as if a cat got it!!
