Marketplace Rope Seller

The Rope Seller
I am a mere rope seller dear friend
I hawk them to join my life’s rope ends
Life has been a mixed blessing at best
A devoted wife, two offspring blessed
My children’s degrees on our home walls mock
Jobless they toss and turn in agony and shock
Too educated to work in family rope shop
They continue to seek jobs, wet eyes mop
Daily my blessed wife religiously does temple rounds
Her slippers tell their sorry tale amidst holy bell sounds
I am the head of the family thus resolutely I go on
Put food on table for my hopeful wife and children
I am a mere rope seller dear friend
I hawk them to join my life’s rope ends
