I am a quivering mass of contradictions
My heart says one thing, my ego another
I set out eastwards, my feet go westwards
I pick up one book to read, my mind’s eye reads another…
I sway to the beat of the latest hit,
My body pays obeisance to the beat of a distant yet unknown drummer!
I reach out to wear the pink dress,
My hands grab the color yellow
My heart, my head and my limbs,
All possess an independent life of
their own and seem to go their own
sweet way…
Helplessly I watch and mourn
As my authority over my own self
Slowly dissipates into nothingness
And I have yet to decide
Who has liberated
from whom!!!

The human mind is indeed a cave swarming with strange forms of life, most of them unconscious and unilluminated. Unless we can understand something as to how the motives that issue from this obscurity are generated, we can hardly hope to foresee or control them.–
Charles Horton Cooley
1864-1929, American Sociologist
