July 20, 2015 – poems on pain

Image is via email
Impish spirit tries
Hard to flee coop
Dragging limbs

Peremptory knocks
Are those rude stones
Hitting youthful windows
Rendered by Ignored catcalls
Choices being scant
I eke out another half smile
From pain pursed lips, eyes
Further widened, questioning
Caregivers with different
Hats come in twos, fours
mumbling from sides
Of mafia mouths by rote
I speak my mind
No more minding
‘P’s ‘Q’s ┬ánon-plussing
They leave hum-hawing
Few put money where their mouth was ,
assiduously taken notes for show
soon dropped at wayside as I due to
Pain indifferently return to sleep
