Heart’s Landscapes

Unfathomed heart’s landscapes
Have fathoms deep pockets
Covertly bearing fragile desires
Kicking heels, never discarded

Fate meted life’s equations
Despite independent choices,
Failed to measure up as I wrestled
With sixes and sevens dished

Shape shifting survivor innocence
Rollicked in day dreamy escapades
Drowned in oceans of words, a sliver
Of iridescent shimmer, kissing pages

How to mourn, embalm embryos
These half kilned heart’s wants
Give them tear jerker send-offs
Anointed with ruby tears

Balanced on the cusp
Steadied by talons two,
Two beady eyes, one sharp beak
Feathers quill new incarnation

One feather floats in the air
Writing secrets in the wind
Other scripts in ocean deep
One swirls in desert dunes

Skeins of ancient memories
Wrap around as weft and woof
Of newly patterned life, loomed
Foaming for awakened realization

Unfathomed heart’s landscapes
Have fathoms deep pockets
Covertly bearing fragile desires
Kicking heels, never aborted
