folding time

Feeling somewhat alien
I roam the corridors
Of my late sister’s
Home
Holy waters bore away
Her bones yet deeply
Embedded memory fossils
Remain
Pushing time backwards
Forwards as an accordion
I hear her voiced highs
Lows
Blood tied emotionally
Loomed fabric of mutual
Respect, love’s windfalls
Adhere
As time’s rope winds
Upon itself I gather amassed
For stuffing bags, how do I
Handle ‘if onlys’ ‘what ifs’
Irrefutable logic, cleverness
Never being strong suits
I merely sprinkle heartfelt
smiles
And fervently pray
‘ let no one prey upon
Near and dear’ and no
more lead them astray
Unworldly love
So freely showered
Always teeters at edge
Of heartbreaks

C’est vie !
