First Love
My heart was beating fast with every look
His eyes were searching me in every nook
Hearts were beating a different tune altogether
His condition was worse than mine, not any better
Little did we realize culprit were eyes that’d met
Such was furor due to head and heart disconnect
Excited panic was coursing wildly in both our veins
Unknown emotions made us shy and giddy in turns
First awareness first sprouted on a board exam bench
Deliberately or not elbows met making hearts wrench
After exam we saw one another briefly before leaving
Silent looks, unknown questions, no answers giving
Cupid sprout rooted, grew in strength for love unknown
Fledgling love’s heartache head tried desperately to disown
Finally love wires crossed, connected just by sheer fluke
Eyes searching results on board met whilst hands shook
Delightful surprise, romantic emotions suddenly course
Throwing us in a clinch involuntarily pushed by a force
A quick peck on the cheek a hasty goodbye and that was it
My brush with first fledgling love was no more than this!!!
