FEAR
Face, sallow and pale
Cringing body, expecting invasion
Feet shifting weight, in turns
Clothes hanging loose
Over a shaky frame
Erect body, slackening
Lips quivering, watery eyes
Blinking rapidly, giving company
To the runny nose n
Wet forehead atop
Pasty cheeks
Eyes rolling and darting
Back n forth, time n again
signalling the onset
Of rampant fear
Bereft of speech
Mutely seeking
Escape from the
Clear threat of ready
and
Present danger.
Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed.
