“with shrunken fingers we ate our oranges and bread,

shivering in the parked car; though we know we had never

been there before, we knew we had been there before.” ~ Margaret Atwood

Head bowed

Carefully navigated

Cobbled pathways

Canopied by tall palms

In yet another old town

A new ancient city~

Euphoria rioted currents

Through length and breadth

Of my being as I hastily glanced

Through the looking glass

That is my fluid soul

Ever cupped in my palms ~

Glimpses of heart

And life lines

Changed courses shakily

Its rippling waters

Intrigued in the athwart rays

Of the midday sun, mystifying~

Drunk in sheer joy

Of being ever charged

Out of love for my eternal

Beloved, I pushed forward

Imperfections of this body

And mind, soul notwithstanding~

“There’s an opposite to déjà vu. They call it jamais vu. It’s when you meet the same people or visit places, again and again, but each time is the first. Everybody is always a stranger. Nothing is ever familiar.” ~ Chuck Palahniuk, Choke
