Diminished In Love

Your whimsy mystifies
Your lackadaisal ways
I comprehend not at all
I thought we had a deal
To be true and steadfast
Now why do you yank?
The rug from under my feet
To steady self, you make me trip!

You are always affable
You are always friendly
You smile and grin ear to ear
Your friends adore you
You are the apple of myriad eyes
When I walk into your orbit
Why do you turn off the beam?
Of your bonhomie turning surly!!

Our first meeting was by chance
Openness and laughter your charm
Your quick repartee bowled me over
We were both tongue tied then in love
We are tongue tied now in bewilderment
You’ve changed the dynamics of our love
You prefer to fly solo than waltz with me
It takes two to tango you must know!

Your presence created an ambience
Your aura was  felt instantly
Now that you have pushed me away
I sense not the old aura and magnetism
You leave me stone cold, untouched
My love has been bottled tight
You aggrandize self nowadays
by trying to diminish me!!!

You take me for granted now
Comfort zones by me are your just dues
Your moods dictate our next moves on cue
Alas we are two strangers under one roof
This was not what we had planned for
The fabric of our dreams were of same
Texture, Woof and Warf and Loves’
Silken threads were strong, steadfast!!

Vicariously we fed not off each other’s emotions
We were caring and loving in every notion
Now we pretend to love but it’s mere motion
It hurts no end and hence this commotion
To salvage  love is now  mission impossible
Yet we can recapture love as we are not fickle
Simply curb your Gemini ways
 Stop becoming personas multiple!!

True love is

To rise
Not fall
To sacrifice
Not self serve
To shore
Not to erode
To grow together
Not diminish!!!

Jeff Zinnert
Love is something eternal; the aspect may change, but not the essence.

Antoine de Saint-Exupery
True love begins when nothing is looked for in return.

William Butler Yeats
True love is a discipline in which each divines the secret self of
the other and refuses to believe in the mere daily self.

Marcel Proust
Love is space and time measured by the heart.

Charlotte Elizabeth Aisse
I could never love where I could not respect.

Anonymous
Sometimes we let affection, go unspoken,
Sometimes we let our love go unexpressed,
Sometimes we can’t find words to tell our feelings,
Especially towards those we love the best.

Voltaire
Love has features which pierce all hearts, he wears a bandage which conceals
the faults of those beloved. He has wings, he comes quickly and flies away the same.

William Shakespeare
Love is a smoke made with the fume of sighs.
Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers’ eyes.
Being vexed, a sea nourished with lovers’ tears.
What is it else?
A madness most discreet,
a choking gall and a preserving sweet.

Lao Tzu
Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
while loving someone deeply gives you courage.

Charles Stanley
Romantic love reaches out in little ways, showing attention and admiration.
Romantic love remembers what pleases a woman, what excites her, and what surprises her.
Its actions whisper: you are the most special person in my life.

“Mortal love is when sensuality is satisfied. True love is when love is sacrificed.”

  1. Bina, after reviewing your accomplishments I am even more humbled by your gift. I wrote this awhile back and I would like to share it with you. Your opinion is valued. ( a view on society’s morality and judgmental perception of age demographic on ‘love’ when it does not meet ‘their’ status quo ) Thx ; )

    Best Regards

    The Hot Savannah

Lying in this jungle of cats and surrounding claws
I look up through an unreachable canopy of blood
Holding my breath as I lose my window of fate
while I analyze, analyze my own perfect flaws.

My heart retches to be kissed by the yellow sunlite
of another day gone by inside this Trojan horse,
I know the child imagination of my gifted love
as I open the gate to freedom from the Dark of nite.

I purr with chronic aching scratches on the surface
of eyes attached to my own headless beast,
Yet I still struggle for smiles outside this cage of life
Seeking the understanding of what was my purpose.

The cynical persuasion of mythical nine lives abound
inside the killing souls of screaming lions and panthers,
It’s time to lay in the shade of the unforgiving Savannah
and try to drink water of raindrops absorbed in the ground.

Migrations of yearning for untouchable life in whispers
and prayers for the Hypocrites to cure my undying soul,
Still the fire of evil eyes offer me nothing to chance
while I lay rotting on the plains of peeling skin and blisters,

Their gnawing teeth rip away at the flesh of my love
as I succumb and give into the life cycles that end,
No more tears on my cheek to turn,
as I keep running from my Pride and Compassion,

Still flying, still flying in the heart of a single dove.

  2. Binajee,

    Your presence created an ambiance
    Your aura was felt instantly

Yes, we can feel the presence of our believed from a distance, too. The aura of our near and dear ones hardly can be erased from the mind-scape.
