Fistful Of Light
Fistful of Light
Holding light in fists
gingerly tiptoed in
darkened corners
Boldly confronting
Bogeys in mind
Releasing light
palms unfurling as
leaves somnolen
Awakening after drink
Of dew in morning light
Dusting mopping
fear cobwebs unreal
Few hand me downs by
grownups, legless
prosthetics, childish
divesting self, awareness
Heightened with light of
earned experience, knowhow
load sheding ignorance
suffusing self with light

Residual Memories
Old vinyl crooning
Young aunt mooning
foaled calf half falling
Hastily slithering snake
Scared kids ready to stake
swollen monsoon, a lake
First tingle of mingle, alien thrill
Two bodies merging in collision
Childhood going over the hill
Sweet ginger tea, marzipan candies
Interesting tobacco cartons, shiny tins
Hookah’s gurgles, skinned childish shins
Mysterious rendezvous by smoking Uncle
Neighbor’s daughter hastening on cycle
Sniggering kids, money in fists, lots of caramel
A funereal funeral in breast beating procession
A wild woman in throes of ghastly possession
A face peering through half drawn curtain
Staccato howls, enemy planes’ banshee prowls
winter’s discontent, dogfights, brandy laced chai
Chilblains chased by warming bricks me and my
Heart and mind zoned out, bodies entwined
Strangers knotted arranged in holy wedlock
locking horns, emoting cloud nine egos shorn
Residual memories’ indelibly blinking
Trail of yore plane’s tail lights winking
Magnetic bits bytes unwind triggering

Ironical
Breath after breath
Every puff
Robs breath
Until
New puff gives
Momentary breather
Of breathlessness
Air to revive
Air to fight
Impure misery
What to inhale
What to exhale
Fighting for breath
One revives next denies
Breath
Respire or expire
Fight every breath
Breath to breath
Inches to death
Inhale exhale
Dilate airways
Combating breath with
Each fresh breath
Ironical isn’t it
A single breath
Can gag or revive
Or deny new breath
As I struggle
For breath against
Breath to intake or not
For life
ps.: its a struggle to breathe b/w allergies and fresh paint in house!
