The Quest

Kindly take my hand
And guide me to the true one
Who will lead me…..

From dense forests to shady nooks
From hurricane winds to calm shores
From intricate questions to simple answers
From dark ignorance to enlightenment
From hate and strife to love and peace
From hard problems to simple solutions
From agony and despair to ease and hope
From egoistic arrogance to humility
From defiance to graceful acceptance
From material wants to simple basics
From violence to non violence
From orthodox ideology to secularism

Such was my journey…

Then, Thou Art came and
Showered your grace
And Lit the lamp of my life
Dispelling all darkness
Once and for all

The Summer of My Content

The basket of my life’s contents
Have all spilled over n exposed
Each and every issue examined
Mulled over and dealt with
Tended, mended and cared for
And discarded, as need be
Now, it is swabbed and empty

Standing at life’s threshold
Chin up, feeling light, airy n agog
Full of expectations, all ready
For thrills, chills n feeling good
Experiences, whatever heady mix
Destiny churns up and throws
My way, I shall relish it with gusto

Peace took its own sweet time in
Coming yet it did come finally
Filling me with exquisite joy n
Bliss- at all times, in all places
In all cases, be it good or bad, keeping
Me unperturbed no matter what,
As now no one can take my joy away!!!!

Health is the greatest possession. Contentment is the greatest treasure.
Confidence is the greatest friend. Non-being is the greatest joy.
The Dhammapada
The secret of contentment is knowing how to enjoy what you have, and to be
able to lose all desire for things beyond your reach.
