Weaned leaves
Cackle in the wind
Ancient tongues wag

Denuded tree
Arms barren
Empty nest

Crimson fallen leaves
Vie with puddles of light
Who is brighter?

Autumnal weeds
Period of morning
Regenerate post hibernate

Brushed fair
By nature’
Icing sprinkle,
Sleight of hand, suddenly

Glad rags thus given
Can tempt but briefly
Not melt nature true

Light darkness, matter scant

Elemental Play Display
 

Snowy days’ recession
illness in remission
Transition

Amply rested wind
Guffawed, cheeks puffed
Blowing heartily

Moving men stationary trees
Bracing self, digging in doggedly
Show of might

Shaken tamped downs are as wet dogs,
Those leashed are fear fraught, overwrought
Outdoors baulked

crooked signs, flotsam jetsam
tins wind kicked here there flying, bared
 open jawed wind sun each other daring

Seated in my glass house
Snug as bug I watch life pass me by
Elemental play, prey, pray!

Warmth wrapped thoughts

Wrapping mom’s shawl
Around my shoulders cold
I lean back into her love’s
Cosseting folds

Trees have air of excitement
Swaying rejuvenation swagger
nature’s botox fixings, soft green
beards promise new beginnings

smudgy piles of snow melted
into puddles of hasbeens
booted steps spring new jauntiness
these cold wintry days, rarely seen

I extract all the brightness
From closet’s palette that can be seen
readying for colored feathers
Celebrating the colors of spring
