In time’s sleeve
Allowed shoes to click

shimmer

elusive fins

nature’s

wet whimsy

in my hand

how doth

it tremor

quickening

heartbeats

matching

itching

painterly

Freda hands

ready to run

riot in Kahlo

color

Uprooted Assimilation

Life’s bolded lines

Time blurred

Nest in memory

Canvases of glaringly

Different ilk, get tinted

In richer hues, eventually

Tadpoles from wells

Nurtured in fresh pastures

Rivet in richer timbres

Yet one can take a tadpole

Out of the well, but cannot fully

Take the well out of tadpole

Roots of bloodlines run deep,

Subterraneous veins flowing covertly

Petroglyphs of ancient memories

Life is full of déjà vu moments, feelings

Of affinity for total strangers~ events, it’s merely

Those subterraneous veins exposed in places

Mopping spills, unable

To blot mouth spilled

Clearing cobwebs

In nooks, crannies

Mind proved elusive

Lined dust motes

Glow in rays of light

Their moment of glory

Life is life

Eel unpredictable, however

Will shower benevolence unexpectedly

Chanting under breath

In dawn’s tender soft light

Body and soul feel swabbed

Lend bit of time
Or allow freeze frame
of your face~ a la Medusa

I seek but a handful of moments
From ongoing life’s battle, to regroup
Spent forces

You are historically a villain
Ever facing acrimony at the ink-
Stained hands of lovers and poets

Let us prove them wrong
Defy laws of nature
Become law unto ourselves

Still self I say
Unto you, so that
I can be still too

Bears plethora of possibilities in wake
~can I keep promises made last night?

Squirrel with nose pressed on glass window
Harbinger of summer’s quickening heartbeat
~there is life beyond my facebook screen

Myriad poets, diverse orchestrated tones
Addressing gamut of emotional spectrum
~I can imbibe only that which is digestible

Beauty of words lies in conveyance and
Nuances garnered thereof, each partaking
~A unique individual experience

I weep for my unborn

For the deep longing

My giddy

In the face-

Joy

Preceding

Your

Miscarriage

Then

The razor

Sharp plunge

Into an abyss

Of deep depression

The

Awful gaping

Wound

Still active

To this day

Left

My Judas body’s

Rejection

Seemed like

Your rejection

My baby

Our loss

Incalculable

Then began

An endless string

Of sleepless

Nights

when I wept

Rivers

aching

To hold

Sweet

Prepared

Early on

Gingerly
Trepidation fraught
Stepped into life boat

Rocking it constantly

Lady luck changed mind

I veer neither to the right
Nor to the left- extremes bore
I tread unbeaten paths

Parting curtain of uncertainty
I dipped feet into mirror of reality
Free falling into parallel worlds

Armed with implicit convictions
I opened Pandora’s Box
Ready to battle evils released

Childhood’s bogey’s lolling
In closets, under beds, disintegrated
Vanquished by quizzical brows

Everything in life
is mind and matter
what mattered, shatter

Mind clean slated again, allowing novel
ideas to peak curiosity prior to discard and post
Worrying over their bones until sucked dry

Life’s wheel is a relentless tumbrel
every exit is an entrance and every
ending is a new beginning

Culturally hemmed

I hawed and chafed

at imposed restrictions

Breaking free one day

I lifted

The hem of novelty

Open mouthed and

Agape

I quietly tucked

In the straining neck

Of my curiosity

Retracting

Into the cocoon

Of my shell
