delicate stems
flowing freely
… defined gently
becoming one
with the vase
contained such
as if they were
an extension
not a separate
entity~ such is
soul’s perception
of inner beauty~

I veer neither to the right
Nor to the left- extremes bore
I tread unbeaten paths

Parting curtain of uncertainty
I dipped feet into mirror of reality
Free falling into parallel worlds

Armed with implicit convictions
I opened Pandora’s Box
Ready to battle evils released

Childhood’s bogey’s lolling
In closets, under beds, disintegrated
Vanquished by quizzical brows

Everything in life
is mind and matter
what mattered, shatter

Mind clean slated again, allowing novel
ideas to peak curiosity prior to discard and post
Worrying over their bones until sucked dry

Life’s wheel is a relentless tumbrel
every exit is an entrance and every
ending is a new beginning

Curling self in inverted colon
Posture, I hugged a soft pillow
To chest luxuriating in laziness

At times such indulgences coupled
With other guilty trespasses
Make life more interesting

Forgetting daily life’s hurly burly
I let my glow from within
Spill all over my outsides

An inside out firefly aglow
Externally beaming internally
Finally at peace with everybody

Detachment is a process  not arrived
at easily, when it happens ripened fruit
severs self from life’s tree readily

Culturally hemmed

I hawed and chafed

at imposed restrictions

Breaking free one day

I lifted

The hem of novelty

Open mouthed and

Agape

I quietly tucked

In the straining neck

Of my curiosity

Retracting

Into the cocoon

Of my shell

(Of consciousness)

Dew drops
Of fun
Hoarded
In childhood’s
Piggy bank
Resound
Happily

Past
Present
Moisture
Shed
In moments of
Grief and joy
Join it

I collect
Ashes and
Bones of
Old wounds
And scars
And place them
In a clay urn

Bearing these,
Piggy bank and urn
I travel to the river
Bank of holy Ganges
And empty them on
A funeral pyre at the
Burning Ghats*

Detached
Unencumbered
I launch my paper
Boat self in life’s
Mighty ocean
Free in mind
Body and spirit

Curled trees
Arched to comfort those

Leaving footprints
In the wind, minds
and hearts of kin

tread softly
speak gently
forgive and forget
finally

Tiptoeing
Labyrinth
Of mind’s
Alley ways
Bypassed few
Cul-de-sac

Adhered to self set
Parameters ~
Gave blind eye
To cordoned spaces
Perennially hemorrhaging
Drop by painful drop…

Sightless fish
Marinating in rose*
Guilt ~ tainted
Repugnancies swimming
In slow agony ~ hunchbacks
Of Notre Dame

Pumped vitamin D
In grief hollowed
Bones, psyching
Self to finally
Spring clean, lay
Tombstone

where it

me riding

Alive in pieces
I pick and choose

Muted subdued
Interspersed

By dawn licked
Cheery oranges

Each little piece
Carefully chiseled

Cultivated prepped
In mirrored audience

Slicking pompadour
rosy hued curls

Framed together
With infinite care

Each live mosaic tile
My composite whole
