To be that still water

Rippling unobtrusively

in womb, deep

“Re” – reflection

Retro parade

Of life’s

Black white

Reel to reel

Left me

Breathless

 

Bursting with

Would be

Could be

Should be

Only if, then(s)

Sighs replete

 

There is

No retake

No prefix to fix, once

Seconds minutes hours

Thunder under

Time’s bridge

Whistling shuffling

That was it

 

Scrambling

At the edge

Facing destiny’s

Thrown gauntlet

Shaken not beaten

Best NOT

To retrace, instead

Take a leap forward

With implicit faith

RE in regrets

Are futile at best

To get on in life

With time in hand

On own terms is best

Obliterating the rest

Life‘s lesson number one

Destiny’s dealt

Hand thus finally won

Journey for Solace

Heart in mouth

Crossed hairpin

Mountain bends

 

Drove beyond

Dipping valleys

Up steep passes

 

Grief’s shadows dissipated

As thinned air gave pause

Jumpstarted paused heart

 

Weighted soul burst into song

Blood gushed to gaping holes

Pock marking traumatized heart

 

Quilted nature’s green patches

Sustenance starved swatches

Reaffirmed destiny’s universality

 

Hugging descended calm walled

In by succor gained from sight

Of nestled sacred grove therein

 

I was ready to tackle world again

Look fate in the eye and if necessary

Unsheathe hibernating gumption to defy

Inexorably life’s

Wheel turns

We know

 

Relentlessly

Come hell

High water

 

On cobble stones

Potholed roads

Unforgiving pavements

 

I weathered

Them on a wing

And prayer

 

Implicitly

Believing

In your promise

 

Heart in mouth

Crossed tunnels

Waited for light

 

Only light flooded

At appointed time not before

I carried on undeterred

 

Now, I seek nothing

You bestow anyway

I accept as your grace

 

Joy and pain

Seem alike these days

As I become detached

 

Ready to journey on

Mingle with the earth

From whence I came

 

Come fetch me

When you may

I’ll keep my tryst

Holding a conch to my ear

I hear its call and rush

To submerge self

Life’s waters to safely

Trudge one must wear

Safety vests

Armed with implicit faith

I plumb its depths

Unafraid

My beloved floats on it

I hear his Pied Piper

Flute’s call

I need not pilgrimage

To far flung places, he resides

In every beating heart

Some have shut doors

To their inner flames

Lost in morass of grief, losses

I bank my inner fires

Steadying my flame

To ride what life tosses

Plumbing the oceans

Is never a cakewalk

I handcrafted own raft

Confident in his love

I dive unafraid

Celebrating bestowed
