Autumn

“Autumn is a second spring when every leaf is a flower.”
~ Albert Camus

Autumn
..
loving
underdogs
as I do
it’s easy to fall
in love with Autumn
..when
trees in disarray
begin publicly disrobing
in pallid shades of greens
ochres, chartreuse,
deep puce, vermilions
and golden …..
in riotous showers
carpeting in an all out display
of kissing the very ground
they stand
upon

……then
almost naked
branches boughs
sturdy and brown
proudly gleam
in the sun
as nature
oiled nubile
bodies
leanly
sculpted

Memories reminisces
Add zest and spices
To these dog days
of summer not very nice

Sepia smudgy photos
Keep turning up ~ misty
eyed I hungrily stare …
heart squelches in toto
Such is weft
of love loomed
Woven
Life

sudden qualms

watching
thunder snow
scaring storms
today
heart longed
for even heartbeats
when’d days chugged
on even keel and palms
did not dig into each other
even though they
unquestionably belonged
either by dint of being
seeded or sprouted
from same ground
I begin to wonder
topped by consternation
customary sunny side
now overdone

should I consider
smudging, sage
brushing, worry beading
as I suddenly feel
quite chilled

seems as if we are overdue in Her Grace

jostle

jostle of dry autumn leaves
underfoot
felt like those tiny tender
desires that’d died
still births
some
hopelessly romantic leaves
still clung on trees
fluttering
perhaps unheeding
nature’s message
I wondered
as I made my way
dragging
reluctant feet
away from home
knowing full well
home
is where heart is

trees

~
eyes
turned
upwards
I glance at trees
to know my pulse
how today’s gonna be
seeing them in nouveau
frippery, bare bones
covered in colorful lingerie
sluggish heart skips beats
gleefully
Spring’s a coming…
nay,,
it’s here
finally !
