coup de grâce

NovNYC2013

winter’s sun
continues to run
weakening minute
by minute, overtaken
by myriad light eaters
on heels
~
Seasonal birds
of prey ferociously
cracking benevolent egg
yolk sun’s shell to pieces
leaking its warmth as crows
cherry picking shiny pieces
~
blustery gale force
winds offer neither leeway
nor breathers, bloodthirstily
joining forces bludgeon cornered
sun shattering in single fell
swoop coup de grâce
~
shivering
cuddling
palms cupping
hot beverages
we pray for return
of our lion maned sun

autumn

image

November gently
Eases mind
Into instant
reveries
~
Beauty arrives
With autumn
In multi colored
Finery
~
Pirouetting
Coquettishly
Awhile
Prior
~
to
finally
Disintegrating
Leaves that flamed
Flaring bright gold
Oranges magentas
Now scrunch underfoot
In faded egg yolk colors
Biting dust
~
Taking life
On my chin
I boldly bite
Into it, better
To mulch and chew
My “nows” eschewing
All my disgruntled
could’ve
should’ve
been
“Rues”
~

drip

pss_prospectpark_fall_trees

drip
~

airborne
motes
leisurely
sip
dripping
colors
glistening
in falling
rays
of a
burgeoning
summer
heated
sun
now
autumn
bitten
gradually
losing
warmth
as
nature
in throes
of
petit
mort
signs
off
with
a flamboyant
flourish
in
nature palette(d)
earthy
tones
resoundingly
stunning

autumn rain

image

it is not water
alone that does
this trick..
that is
dripping down
heaven’s
eyelids
~
every
time
I raise
my eyes
I catch sight
of trees dripping
dry tears
as leaves
~
glossy,
colorful
as playful
as sloshing
kaleidoscopic
glass pieces
some leaves
are simply pure
perfection and
I involuntarily
whistle
at nature’s
artistry
~

autumn leaves

AutumnPinterest

~
affected sun
radiantly
infects
leaves
giddily dancing
in morning light
~
banishment
hurt forgotten
they seize
balance
moments
to fully curl
burn
~
bridges
flickering,
flecking
in full
spectrum
earth tones
fiery
bright
~
